Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests in the Fairmont Gold lounge.
  • Prepare and serve cocktails, coffees, teas, and other beverages to guests.
  • Set up and break down food and beverage presentations in the lounge, including breakfast, coffee/tea service, bar service, and canapés.
  • Assist guests with food and beverage menu items, including knowledge of menu items, garnishes, contents, and preparation methods.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and ambiance of the lounge, including clearing dishes from guest tables and ensuring the lounge and service areas are well-maintained.
  • Develop and maintain strong guest relationships to ensure Fairmont Gold loyalty.
  • Organize the Fairmont Gold pantry and storage areas to ensure efficiency and assist with controlling inventory.
  • Collaborate with departments that support Fairmont Gold, primarily the culinary and stewarding departments.
  • Ensure all Fairmont Chateau Laurier policies, procedures, and corporate Fairmont Gold standards are known, followed, and acted upon at all times.
Requirements:
  • Food and Beverage serving experience required.
  • Smart serve certification required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and English/French communication skills.
  • Professional presentation and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Bar tending skills an asset.
Physical Aspects of Position:
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout shift.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting.
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramp.
