About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Relationship Support Specialist to join our team at Prospera Credit Union. As a key member of our Business Banking team, you will play a critical role in supporting our Business Relationship Managers and Regional Director, Business Banking.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide primary support to the Regional Director, Business Banking and aligned Business Relationship Managers, ensuring seamless delivery of business lending services to our members.
  2. Prepare and maintain accurate reports, business lending files, and other documentation as required.
  3. Liaise with external parties, including insurance and merchant service providers, to ensure timely and efficient resolution of member inquiries.
  4. Maintain in-depth knowledge of Prospera Credit Union's business lending and deposit products and services, as well as related policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
  5. Assist Business Relationship Managers in the preparation of member credit applications and credit renewals, and provide guidance on due diligence and monitoring processes.
  6. Provide expert advice to members on business online, cash management services, merchant, and payroll services, under the guidance of Business Relationship Managers.
  7. Proactively refer members to Business Relationship Managers as necessary, ensuring timely and effective support.
  8. Run various credit reports and searches, including land title and personal property security act (PPSA) searches, and complete telephone credit checks.
  9. Create and maintain security files for follow-up on registration and renewal, and for internal and external audit purposes.
  10. Follow up to ensure required security is obtained and credit terms and conditions are met, by working closely with members and/or Business Relationship Managers.
  11. Prepare and document letters of credit and related indemnities for members.
  12. Draft related credit applications, supporting security pledges, and PPSA registrations and renewals.
  13. Under the guidance of Business Relationship Managers, negotiate fees, collect fees, and set up banking and diary systems.
  14. Follow up on annual reviews, documenting reviews, PPSA registrations, and fee collection as support for aligned Business Relationship Managers, as part of their accountability for Portfolio Management.
  15. Process and administer monthly syndicated loan payments, and prepare payment charts for finance, commercial credit, and business departments, and syndicate partners.
  16. Help maintain positive relationships with syndicated lenders by coordinating loan drawdown, ensuring payments are processed on time, and that appropriate records are shared with partners as required.
  17. Review various reports, and under the direction of Business Relationship Managers, contact members to arrange payment where necessary.
  18. Calculate and prepare loan payouts by applying established penalty and interest formulas.
  19. Prepare, process, and complete mortgage payouts and discharges through source and manually, with approval by Management.
  20. Assist in the loan margining process by analyzing receivable lists, preparing margin cards, preparing letters for any required loan reductions, and collecting fees.
Requirements
  1. 2-3 years of experience in a front-line position within a financial institution, with exposure to lending, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Demonstrated capability in decision making and critical thinking.
  3. Proven ability to plan, schedule, organize, and prioritize work priorities.
  4. Knowledge of cross-selling techniques and an understanding of banking systems, applications, and technology.
  5. Understanding of business lending and deposit products and services, and related policies, procedures, documentation requirements, and legal processes.
  6. Skilled in accounting and financial statements.
