Dean of Faculty of Law

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to serve as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the faculty in its academic and administrative endeavors, ensuring the highest standards of excellence in teaching, research, and service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Faculty of Law, aligning with the university's overall goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement academic programs, policies, and procedures that promote academic excellence and innovation.
  • Oversee the recruitment, retention, and development of faculty and staff, ensuring a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, including alumni, industry partners, and government agencies.
  • Manage the faculty's budget and resources, ensuring effective use of funds and optimal allocation of resources.
  • Represent the Faculty of Law at university and external events, promoting its reputation and advancing its interests.
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in Law or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in academic administration, preferably in a senior leadership role.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
