Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our team at Baker Tilly Trillium LLP. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional financial services to our clients, including preparing corporate financial statements, analyzing financial information, and collaborating with peers and senior management on file planning and completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare corporate client financial statements (review, audit, and compilation) and tax returns.
  • Analyze financial information, accounting processes, and operation procedures; provide account reconciliation and propose adjusting entries.
  • Collaborate with peers and senior management on file planning and completion within time constraints.
  • Prepare personal income tax returns.
  • Provide personal, attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a College or University accounting program.
  • CPA designation.
  • Accounting experience with mid-size business or professional firm would be an asset.
  • Computer skills including Caseware, Taxprep, and Excel. Experience with Simply Accounting and Quickbooks would be an asset.
  • Experience with QBO.
  • Legally able to work in Canada - this is not a sponsored position.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment including related deadlines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
