Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in Leamington or Essex, Ontario. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing corporate client financial statements, analyzing financial information, and providing account reconciliation and adjusting entries. You will also collaborate with peers and senior management on file planning and completion within time constraints.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare corporate client financial statements (review, audit, and compilation) and tax returns.
  • Analyze financial information, accounting processes, and operation procedures; provide account reconciliation and propose adjusting entries.
  • Collaborate with peers and senior management on file planning and completion within time constraints.
  • Prepare personal income tax returns.
  • Provide personal, attentive service to clients to encourage productive working relationships.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a College or University accounting program.
  • CPA designation.
  • Accounting experience with mid-size business or professional firm would be an asset.
  • Computer skills including Caseware, Taxprep, and Excel. Experience with Simply Accounting and Quickbooks would be an asset.
  • Experience with QBO.
  • Legally able to work in Canada - this is not a sponsored position.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of a client-focused environment including related deadlines and the ability to work to meet those deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
