The Georgetown Hospital Emergency Department is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that serves the communities of Halton, Halton Hills, and surrounding areas. Our 15-bed unit is equipped with a separate Rapid Assessment Fast Track (RAFT) zone, providing timely and effective care to patients of all ages and medical conditions.
Our multidisciplinary team, comprised of nurses, physicians, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals, works collaboratively to assess and treat patients with a wide range of medical and mental health illnesses. With over 39,000 patient visits last year, our team is dedicated to providing exceptional care and service to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and treat adult and pediatric patients in the Emergency Department
- Function as a member of the multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
- Provide education and support to patients and their families to promote health and wellness
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements:
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card
- Previous Emergency Department experience required
- Experience in triage and in-charge responsibilities required
- ACLS certificate required at time of hire and ongoing
- Completion of an on-site sponsored course within one year of hire date
- Successful completion of Canadian Emergency Nursing Certification Exam would be an asset
- Successful completion of post-diploma Emergency courses, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, would be an asset
- Basic ECG interpretation and 12 lead ECG application and interpretation preferred
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
