Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

The Emergency Department at Halton Healthcare is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires skilled and compassionate nurses to provide high-quality patient care. As a Registered Nurse in our Emergency Department, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing the needs of patients and providing treatment in a timely and effective manner
  • Working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Providing education and support to patients and their families
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card
  • Previous Emergency Department experience
  • Experience in triage and in-charge responsibilities
  • ACLS certificate
  • Completion of an on-site sponsored course within one year of hire date
  • Canadian Emergency Nursing Certification Exam
  • Post-diploma Emergency courses, TNCC, ENPC, PALS
  • Basic ECG interpretation and 12 lead ECG application and interpretation
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record
