Emergency Department Nurse

The Georgetown Hospital Emergency Department is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires a skilled and compassionate nurse to provide high-quality care to patients of all ages and backgrounds. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work collaboratively with physicians, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals to assess patient needs and provide timely and effective treatment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Provide direct patient care, including triage, medication administration, and wound care
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Participate in rapid assessment and treatment of patients in the Emergency Department
- Document patient information and maintain accurate records
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Heart & Stroke Approved BLS Provider Card
- Previous Emergency Department experience required
- Experience in triage and in-charge responsibilities required
- ACLS certificate required at time of hire and ongoing
- Completion of an on-site sponsored course within one year of hire date
- Successful completion of Canadian Emergency Nursing Certification Exam would be an asset
- Basic ECG interpretation and 12 lead ECG application and interpretation preferred
The Emergency Department is a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires flexibility and adaptability. You will work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, and may be required to work in a variety of settings, including the Emergency Department, Rapid Assessment Zone, and other areas of the hospital.
