Director, Carbon Management Technologies

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Carbon Management Technologies to join our team at Natural Resources Canada (NRCan). The successful candidate will lead our efforts in identifying, developing, and implementing technologies that promote the sustainability of Canada's energy and carbon-intensive industries.
The Director, Carbon Management Technologies will be responsible for directing all work within a broad and complex portfolio, including leading research and development (R&D) projects, supervising a multi-disciplinary team, and leveraging partnerships and networks to deliver R&D projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead R&D projects, including proposal preparation, resource allocation, budget, and project management.
- Supervise a multi-disciplinary team, including scientists, engineers, or technologists, in the delivery of R&D projects.
- Leverage partnerships and networks to deliver R&D projects.
- Prepare recommendations for director-level audiences based on R&D results.
The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in a field of the natural sciences related to the duties of the position, or a master's or bachelor's degree with acceptable research, training, and experience. The candidate must also have experience leading R&D projects, supervising a multi-disciplinary team, and leveraging partnerships and networks to deliver R&D projects.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a minimum of four references (two supervisors and two direct reports) and will be subject to a random and/or top-down selection of candidates in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.
