Aviva Canada is a leading insurance company that prioritizes the needs of its customers. We are seeking an experienced Claims Resolution Specialist to join our Field Claims team in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Property Insurance and at least 2 years of experience as a Field adjuster handling Personal Lines and Commercial lines claims. A valid driver's license is also required.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Completing on-site and/or virtual inspections of personal and commercial claims
  • Capturing the scope of damages and writing repair estimates to settle claims
  • Reconciling and validating vendor estimates to ensure price and scope is appropriate
  • Investigating by meeting with insureds, third parties, witnesses, and lawyers to obtain facts and information
  • Reviewing facts, policy, technical reports, fire marshall reports, case law, and making decisions on coverage, value of the claim, and negotiating/settling the claim accordingly
  • Providing exemplary customer service and keeping related parties informed of the claims status
  • Ensuring data accuracy, issuing payments to insureds, vendors, and other insurance companies

You will also be responsible for assisting during CATs within Canada and corresponding with third parties, lawyers, insureds, brokers, and individuals or companies who have an interest in the claim settlement.

We offer a competitive salary band of $49,000 to $91,000, depending on experience and qualifications. The salary for this position is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as internal equity.
