Teacher - Class 5 Educator

St.Amant is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher to join our team at St.Amant School. As a Teacher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our students with developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized educational programs that cater to the unique needs of each student.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized educational programs for students with developmental and intellectual disabilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination and integration of services
- Provide direction and supervision to Instructional Assistants to ensure services are individualized, developmentally and age appropriate
- Assist with planning and implementing processes that allow healthcare needs and educational/developmental needs to blend their functions
- Work closely with Resident Care Coordinators, clinicians, and other team members to ensure coordination and integration of services
- Undergraduate degree in education
- Certified as a teacher by the Manitoba Department of Education and Training
- Formal training in special education is an asset
- Previous experience teaching students with developmental/intellectual disabilities, as a special education teacher, resource teacher, or regular classroom teacher
- Previous experience in an interdisciplinary school environment
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a participatory team approach
