About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Specialist to join our team at Kerkhoff Technologies Inc. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our clients' Linux-based infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Communication: Communicate with clients to understand their technical requirements and provide solutions to meet their needs.
  • System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including patching, health checks, and troubleshooting to ensure the stability and security of our clients' systems.
  • Deployment and Onboarding: Deploy new systems and onboard new clients, creating customized roadmaps to improve their infrastructure.
  • Time Tracking and Reporting: Accurately track and report time spent on client projects.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with our team to achieve project goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Advanced Linux Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Linux-based operating systems, including RHEL and Debian distributions.
  • Networking and Cloud Experience: Experience with various cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCloud, Digital Ocean) and networking concepts (debugging, container orchestration, etc.).
  • Scripting and Development: Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python) and software development principles.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to new technologies and challenges.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Linux Consulting Experience: Experience working in a Linux consulting environment or as a contractor.
  • Ticketing System Management: Familiarity with ticketing systems like ConnectWise or similar tools.
  • Database and Networking Expertise: Knowledge of database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite) and high-level networking concepts (campus/enterprise networking, VLANS, VPNS, etc.).
  • Certifications and Education: Relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, K8S, RHEL, etc.) and a 2-year technical diploma (CIS or CS) or greater.
