Senior ETL Developer for Hybrid Role in North York

Randstad Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior ETL Developer to join our team on a one-year contract basis. This is a hybrid role that requires 3 days of work in the office per week, with a strong focus on working collaboratively with our clients in the Broader Public Sector.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior ETL Developer to work on high-impact projects that will make a tangible difference to the people of Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing complex data transformation solutions using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Informatica PowerCenter, and Sybase Power Designer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze incidents, providing timely resolutions to ensure seamless data processing.
  • Participate in the review of project, work request, and maintenance release artefacts to ensure alignment with Ministry standards.
  • Deliver detailed system design documents and supporting documentation conforming to Ministry standards.
  • Design logical and physical data models using Sybase Power Designer and implement ADF pipelines and stored procedures.
  • Develop and optimize Azure CI/CD pipelines to automate ADF releases and improve overall efficiency.
  • Implement complex data conversion and transformation tasks, including binary to character and EBCDIC to UTF conversions.
  • Integrate diverse data sets from source systems and promote ADF through all Ministry environments.
  • Debug ADF pipelines and stored procedures, as well as Informatica workflows, to resolve defects and improve performance.
  • Actively participate in project teams, providing feedback and support during design, development, testing, and implementation phases.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have extensive experience with ETL tools, including Informatica PowerCenter and Microsoft SSIS. You should also have expertise in Azure Data Factory, including experience with CI/CD pipelines and concepts, data modeling, and working with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server databases, and tools.
