About the Role:

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a vital member of our care team at Lakeview Lodge Community, providing high-quality nursing care to our residents. As a LPN, you will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care and support to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and resident care plans.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of medications and narcotics, and maintain accurate records of medication administration.
  • Conduct regular assessments of residents' physical and emotional needs, and develop and implement individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Nurse and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge, and stay up-to-date on best practices in long-term care.
  • Document resident care and progress in a timely and accurate manner, and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse or other healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Practical Nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses BC.
  • Successful completion of RAI MDS certification as per Ministry of Health requirements for AIS.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Long-term care experience, with a focus on gerontological nursing.
  • Experience working with residents with complex care needs, including those with dementia and other cognitive impairments.
