Job Title: Behaviour Support Specialist

Baycrest is seeking a Behaviour Support Specialist to join our team. As a Behaviour Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive clinical behavioural assessment and behaviour support services to our inpatient Behavioural Neurology unit and other behaviour support services/programs in the Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive clinical behavioural assessments and behaviour support services to patients and their families.
  • Develop and implement individualized behaviour management interventions and care plans in collaboration with clients, care partners, and the client's circle of care.
  • Provide training to staff and students related to behaviour support.
  • Participate in data collection and reporting on accountability measures.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, patient rounds, and educational series.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Registration as a Behaviour Analyst with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario.
  • Minimum three (3) years demonstrated expertise and knowledge working with individuals with various neurodegenerative diseases including dementia, and those with acute behavioural changes and associated responsive behaviours.
  • Experience/familiarity with behavioural, cognitive, psychosocial, and environmental assessments relating to responsive behaviours.
  • Training and experience in applied behaviour analysis and behavioural support management approaches.
