Behavioural Support Specialist

About the Role:
Baycrest is seeking a Behavioural Support Specialist to join our Behavioural Neurology unit. As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will provide comprehensive clinical behavioural assessments and behaviour support services to our inpatients. You will also provide training to staff and students related to behaviour support, and participate in data collection and reporting on accountability measures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive clinical behavioural assessments and behaviour support services to the inpatient Behavioural Neurology unit and other behaviour support services/programs in the Hospital
- Provide training to staff and students related to behaviour support
- Participate in data collection and reporting on a number of accountability measures
- Collaborate with client, care partners, and the client's circle of care to develop and disseminate individualized behaviour management interventions and care plans
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, patient rounds, and educational series
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Registration as a Behaviour Analyst with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario
- Minimum three (3) years demonstrated expertise and knowledge working with individuals with various neurodegenerative diseases including dementia, and those with acute behavioural changes and associated responsive behaviours
- Experience/familiarity with behavioural, cognitive, psychosocial, and environmental assessments relating to responsive behaviours
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating behaviour support programs, quality improvement, and education for team members
