Job Title: Orthopaedic Surgeon

Calian is seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team in Edmonton, AB. As a part-time specialist, you will provide general orthopaedic consultation services to Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members on a referral basis.

Responsibilities:
  • Providing comprehensive diagnosis, medical management, and rehabilitation of patients
  • Determining procedures for preoperative and postoperative care, applying surgical procedures, and coordinating operation with anesthesiologist
  • Participating as a member of the multidisciplinary team for case conference when on-site
  • Practicing as a member of a multidisciplinary team and consulting with members of other health professions as appropriate in order to ensure the health care needs of CAF members are met
  • Practicing in accordance with the Canadian Armed Forces' Spectrum of Care, Drug Benefit List and Code of Ethics
Requirements:
  • Licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
  • Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC)
  • Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C Certification
  • Ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
