Job Title: Heavy Equipment Technician Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician Specialist to join our team at Brandt in Edmonton.

This is a challenging role that requires the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment used in construction and forestry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy equipment, diagnose issues, assemble/disassemble parts, order replacement parts, and perform repairs efficiently and effectively.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to industry standards.
  • Operate related instruments, hand tools, power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
  • Accurately document work orders, including machine information, actions taken, and time spent on tasks.
  • Conduct regular safety assessments to ensure work is performed safely and meets accepted standards.
  • Utilize computer applications and information systems, such as John Deere Service Advisor, to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
  • Locate and order parts from inventory using parts catalogues.
  • Perform road tests and check attachment operation as required.
Requirements:
  • Effective communication and collaboration with customers, service teams, and branch personnel.
  • Ability to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, and fine motor control.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade.
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to meet physical demands and lift up to 50 pounds.

The estimated salary for this position is approximately $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
