Job Summary

The Charge Radiology Technologist is responsible for the daily operation of the Radiology Diagnostic Department at Shared Health. This role requires strong leadership skills to coordinate work flow, supervise, and promote teamwork among diagnostic imaging staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative duties, including maintaining a safe environment and ensuring compliance with quality assurance programs and accreditation standards.
  • Supervisory responsibilities, including communicating with diagnostic service operations and functioning as a direct resource to the Diagnostic Services Director.
  • Technical responsibilities, including applying technical knowledge to interpretation of results, troubleshooting, and assessing methods.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years recent extensive work experience, including supervisory and/or administrative experience.
  • Graduate of an approved Medical Radiography program with attained certification by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Active registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal management training program or health care administration course.
  • Windows computer environment and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Workplace Health and Safety Program or training.
  • Familiarity with collective agreements.
