Responsibilities of the Radiology Department Manager


Position Overview


The Radiology Department Manager oversees the daily operation of the Radiology Diagnostic Department. Under the direction of the Diagnostic Services Director, the Manager communicates with and functions as a direct resource to diagnostic service operations within the Region. Responsibilities include administrative, supervisory, technical, and educational duties, ensuring a safe environment, maintaining quality assurance programs, and upholding Accreditation standards.


Experience



  • A minimum of five years of recent extensive work experience, including supervisory and/or administrative experience, is required.

Education



  • A graduate of an approved Medical Radiography program with certification by the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is required.
  • Completion of a formal management training program or health care administration course is an asset.

Certification/Licensure/Registration



  • Active registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is mandatory.

Skills and Qualifications



  • Proficiency in a Windows computer environment and Microsoft Office programs is required.
  • Leadership skills, communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure.
  • Fluent language skills in French and English are required.
