Clinical Psychologist

Job Summary:
The Clinical Psychologist will provide a full range of psychological services to clients with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) within a multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessments, rehabilitative treatment, and consultation to colleagues and community professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive oral and/or written assessments of client functioning, including intellectual, neurocognitive, emotional, personality, psychopathology, interests, and aptitudes.
- Develop and implement rehabilitative treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide neurocognitive assessments to individuals with mild to severe brain injuries.
- Develop and manage psychological services for the Acquired Brain Injury program, including clinical and administrative expertise on ABI assessment, treatment, service planning, and program design.
- Consult with colleagues and community professionals on assessment and treatment issues.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and decision-making processes.
- Produce and maintain confidential client clinical records and reports.
- Initiate and carry out program evaluation and research work for the advancement of psychological issues within the ABI services.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, including relevant coursework, training, and clinical supervision in assessment/testing and intervention.
- Two years' recent related experience in neurocognitive assessment and administration and interpretation of neurocognitive assessment.
- Experience working with rehabilitation interventions, multidisciplinary teamwork, and individuals with an acquired brain injury within a clinical or supportive setting.
- Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based ABI rehabilitation.
- Demonstrated research skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmental theories, family and social dynamics, treatment and behavior management modalities, and psychological testing and interpretation.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive written assessments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of the service delivery systems at the local, regional, and provincial level.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal effectively with others.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
