About the Role

Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Social Worker, MSW to join our Inpatient Mental Health Program. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments and interventions to individuals with serious mental illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to identify client needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide evidence-based interventions, including individual, family, and group therapy, to promote client recovery and well-being.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional team to ensure comprehensive discharge planning and linkages to community-based services.
  • Develop and implement social work best practices within the interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Contribute to program development and participate in research activities to enhance the functioning of individuals with mental illness and their families.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social work from an accredited University.
  • Member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
  • Minimum of 3 years of mental health experience, preferably in an inpatient setting.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act and the Criminal Code of Canada.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Canada Pension Plan Disability, Ontario Disability Support Programs, Powers of Attorney, and Alternate Level of Care.
  • Excellent communication, advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successful completion of CPI or other form of Management of Aggressive Behaviour training.
  • Interest and demonstrated abilities in program planning & development and research.
