**Job Overview**

Alliston Group seeks a skilled Construction Estimator to proactively support and champion our Estimating and Purchasing tasks. This role involves creating and maintaining vendor relationships, seeking opportunities for cost savings, and ensuring compliance with our standard specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing job set-up, maintenance, and reviews in Homefront.
  • Implementation of Homefront software and training of other departments on its use.
  • Tender completion and review.
  • Daily review of cost estimates from vendors.
  • Accurate material takeoff creation and maintenance.
  • Monitoring of material usage in the field for overages and shortages.
  • Model and option estimates, as well as assemblies creation.
  • Timely calculation and completion of custom price requests for Sales.
  • Issuance of Purchase Orders (POs) and Vendor Purchase Orders (VPOs).
  • Vendor and supplier procurement.
  • Assistance with contract negotiations, scope of work communication to contractors, drawing reviews, specification revisions, and selections reviews.
  • Review of actuals vs. budgets and establishment of cost-to-completes or draw stage budgets.
  • Coordination of holdbacks with the Office Manager and vendors.
  • Vendor/contractor queries via phone, email, and in-person assistance.
  • Budget analysis, variance identification, trend monitoring, and post-occupancy incurred costs evaluation.
  • Liaison between Estimating team members, vendors/contractors, Construction, Design, Accounting, and Sales Team members to ensure accurate information for production.

Experience and Requirements:

  • Multifamily and Custom Home experience required.
  • Ability to read and understand all plans, blueprints, grade slips, specifications, and associated construction documents.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good time management.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to handle large volumes of data.
  • Sincere desire to provide top-notch support and customer service.
  • Ability to work competently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Civil Engineering Technology, Construction, or Architectural Technology diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in construction purchasing/estimating, preferably with a home builder.
  • Homefront experience is considered an asset.

**Salary:** $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
