Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager/Estimator to join our team at Skyline Recruitment Ltd in Guelph, ON.

About the Role

This is a key leadership position responsible for managing and estimating construction projects across various sectors, including Industrial, Commercial, Institutional (ICI), Residential, and Civil. The ideal candidate will have expertise in project management and cost estimation, as well as strong knowledge of local sub-trades, suppliers, and market conditions in the Guelph area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management:
  • Lead and oversee multiple construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring successful project delivery through effective coordination with clients, sub-trades, and internal teams.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, monitoring progress and resolving any issues that arise promptly.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, and equipment, analyzing project drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine costs.
  • Negotiate with sub-trades and suppliers to secure competitive pricing, identifying opportunities for value engineering to optimize project budgets and schedules.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and company policies, fostering a collaborative work environment with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Management and Cost Estimation within the construction industry in Canada.
  • A proven track record of managing projects in ICI, Residential, and Civil sectors, with strong knowledge of local sub-trades, suppliers, and market conditions in the Guelph area.
  • Proficient in construction management software and cost estimating tools, with excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills, with a post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
