Food Preparation and Service Specialist

The Duck Mountain Motel is seeking a skilled Food Preparation and Service Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our food service staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our guests.
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced cook who can work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, be able to work well under pressure, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
About the Job:
This is a permanent position working 35-40 hours per week. You will be required to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks as part of your duties. A valid Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required, and previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine food portions and costs: Calculate the size of food portions and estimate costs to ensure we stay within budget.
- Prepare and serve complete meals: Cook a variety of dishes and prepare individual meals for our guests, including those with dietary restrictions.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness: Ensure all kitchen areas are clean and sanitized, and maintain a safe working environment.
- Manage inventory and records: Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment, and order new stock as needed.
- Inspect kitchens and food service areas: Regularly inspect the kitchen and food service areas to ensure they meet our high standards.
