Job Summary

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Oncology Unit at Burnaby Hospital. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide direct patient care, assess patient needs, and develop and implement individualized care plans. Your expertise in chemotherapy administration and oncology nursing will be invaluable in delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

- Assess patients and collect information from various sources to inform nursing diagnoses and develop care plans.
- Administer oral and intravenous chemotherapy as ordered by physicians, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to develop and implement care plans, promoting person-centered care and patient autonomy.
- Participate in care conferences and councils to ensure comprehensive care planning and delivery.
- Document patient assessments, diagnoses, interventions, and outcomes according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.

Qualifications

- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- BC Cancer Agency Chemotherapy Certification.
