Intensive Care Unit Nurse

Job Summary:
Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with the interprofessional care team to ensure comprehensive care planning and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients and collect information from various sources to inform nursing care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, prioritizing patient needs and collaborating with the care team.
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient responses.
- Collaborate with patients and families to promote person-centered care, ensuring empathy, trust, and respect.
- Participate in care conferences and councils to discuss patient care issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Document patient assessments, care plans, and outcomes in accordance with practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).

- Ability to assess patients and provide nursing care through appropriate technical, therapeutic, and safety interventions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the interprofessional care team.
- Ability to promote person-centered care, demonstrating empathy, trust, and respect for patients and families.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to integrate and evaluate data from multiple sources.
