Dedicated Assistive Technology Specialist

The Nova Scotia Health Authority seeks a skilled Registered Orthotic Technician to join our team. This role provides technical expertise towards evaluation, treatment planning, individualized design, custom fabrication, and maintenance of assistive devices, primarily orthoses, to enhance patient mobility and/or physical function.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the inter-professional health care team to provide optimal care and to assist the patient in achieving their orthotic goals. The Registered Technician will work directly and indirectly with patients by contributing to the orthotic ongoing care.
About You- Registration in good standing with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (annual renewal)
- Minimum of two years' experience (Technical Internship is considered experience)
- Able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and the health care team
- Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational abilities to complete assigned work and manage changing caseloads
- High level of manual dexterity, strong problem-solving abilities, computer skills
- Understanding of privacy and confidentiality requirements and infection control procedures
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

$29.81 - $36.54 hourly salary. Successful candidates may be eligible for benefits including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. Relocation assistance may be available with a return of service contract.
