As a Transit Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, while maintaining the appearance of the interior of the bus.
Key Responsibilities- Transportation Services: Safely drive and maintain the appearance of the interior of the bus, providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation to students.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required, ensuring the bus is in good working condition.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, and school staff, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with dispatchers, road supervisors, and other stakeholders using a 2-way radio and PA system.
- Adaptability: Work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities as needed.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- License: Class BZ or CZ driving license, clear driver abstract, and background check.
- Experience: Previous experience in transportation or a related field is an asset.
- Skills: Good verbal communication skills, ability to read, write, and speak English, and basic mathematical procedures.
- Physical Demands: Ability to sit for long periods, move around the bus, and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending.
- Environmental Conditions: Work in a variety of weather conditions, including wet, cold, and hot temperatures.
