First Student Canada-Transco is seeking highly motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as Transit Drivers in Orillia and Midland.

Job Summary:

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a strong work ethic and excellent customer service skills to provide safe and reliable transportation to our passengers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a transit vehicle in a safe and courteous manner, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a strong attendance record and perform pre/post trip vehicle inspections as required.
  • Assist passengers with wheelchairs or other mobility aids and secure them properly.
  • Notify dispatch of any deviations, overload, accidents, or mechanical issues.
  • Collect fares and provide information to passengers as needed.
  • Complete and submit written reports concerning passengers and accidents.
  • Operate on-board computer destination signs and assume any other duties assigned.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Class BZ or CZ driving license, clear driver abstract, and background check.
  • First Aid certification and transit experience an asset.
  • Good verbal communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet strict timelines.
  • Must be able to work rotating shift hours and days assigned, including weekends.
Working Conditions:

Transit drivers will be subject to various environmental conditions, including wet, cold, and hot temperatures. They will also be exposed to vehicle noise and vibration, as well as vehicle exhaust fumes and odors.
