Job Summary:
Vancouver Community College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Chemistry Instructor to join our team. As a Chemistry Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching students in an assigned field of study using a diverse set of instruction methods and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver curriculum and teaching materials for Chemistry courses, including lectures, presentations, demonstrations, and laboratory work.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including papers, tests, exams, and projects.
- Provide individualized or group tutorial or remedial instruction to students who require it.
- Maintain effective stewardship of classroom facilities, equipment, materials, software, and tools.
- Participate in departmental and college meetings and events, and consult with other College departments as needed.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in Science, Applied Science, or Education, with a Bachelor's degree in Science or Applied Science.
- One year of relevant science or related teaching experience, preferably with adults.
- Education and/or teaching experience within the last 5 years.
- Completion of the Provincial Instructor's Diploma or equivalent, in a timely fashion after employment commences.
- Evidence of commitment to team and personal professional growth.
