Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Finance Advisory Analyst / Associate to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Global Banking & Markets division, you will play a critical role in providing thoughtful capital market solutions to our corporate clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and analyze the financial needs of corporate clients to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Collect, consolidate, and interpret company, industry, and market data to inform business decisions.
  • Conduct credit rating analysis, including scenario analysis using external credit rating methodologies, to assess creditworthiness and risk.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality presentations to clients and stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Facilitate the execution of ratings advisory mandates, including supporting the drafting of rating agency presentations and marketing materials for transactions, and liaising with credit rating agencies, cross-functional deal team members, and external clients.
  • Collect, maintain, and analyze client, market, and product data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Identify and develop business opportunities with clients, leveraging your expertise and network to drive growth and revenue.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in corporate and/or investment banking or leveraged finance, with a strong understanding of financial markets and instruments.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering, Economics, Science, or Technology, with a strong academic record.
  • CFA, CPA, or equivalent designation is an asset, demonstrating your commitment to professional development and excellence.
  • Proven track record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities, showcasing your leadership skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
