Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III to join our Life Sciences business unit in our Kanata office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing electrical systems for facilities and laboratories, working closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Design electrical systems for facilities and laboratories, including power distribution, lighting, and telecommunications.
- Develop conceptual and detailed designs, as well as analysis and calculations, to ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with clients to prepare and validate proposed scope of work, and prepare fee proposals for engineering design work.
- Work with other disciplines to ensure accuracy of the package, meet schedule, and budget commitments, and meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, and work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Complete tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Travel as needed to meet with clients and collaborate with team members.
- Eight (8) years of experience in facility Electrical Engineering design.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience using REVIT/AutoCAD or other design software-based drawing generation.
- Experience using electrical calculation tools, including lighting and power software such as AGi32, Elum Tools, SKM Power Tools, ETAP, and EasyPower.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Excel & Word.
- Experience with technical codes such as NEC, NESC, NFPA, IEEE is required.
- Experience with USDA, ARS, CDC and other laboratory clients is highly desired.
- Candidates must be Canadian citizens and local candidates are preferred.
