Job Title: Part Time Caseworker

The Salvation Army is seeking a Part Time Caseworker to join our team at the Brantford Booth Centre. As a Caseworker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who are experiencing homelessness and working towards a more stable future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an active caseload and provide individualized support to clients.
  • Conduct intakes and assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized plans.
  • Provide problem-solving and referral counseling to clients, connecting them with community resources and services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and other Salvation Army departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services.
  • Assist front desk personnel as needed, responding to client issues and crises.
  • Record activities and incidents in a factual and concise manner using log books and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with emergency services personnel as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to The Salvation Army's policies and procedures.
Working Conditions:

This is a permanent, part-time position with 15 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling is required, and shifts may vary according to the needs of the role.

Shifts: Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • University or college diploma in Social Services or a related field.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificates.
Experience and Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community-based resources and services.
Skills and Capabilities:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Competent in word processing software, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Ability to work with socially disadvantaged individuals and develop a deep understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Ability to work with federal release clients to develop and implement life plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and implement goals and plans for self and clients.
  • Ability to work independently and under supervision.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
