Caseworker Assistant

Job Summary:

The Salvation Army is seeking a skilled Caseworker Assistant to join our team at the Brantford Booth Centre. As a key member of our team, you will provide support to residents and clients, helping them to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an active caseload and provide regular check-ins with residents and clients.
  • Conduct intakes and assessments to identify client needs and develop personalized plans.
  • Provide problem-solving and referral counseling to help clients access community resources and services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and service providers to ensure seamless referrals and support.
  • Record activities and incidents in a factual and concise manner, using Log Books and Incident Occurrence Reports.
  • Work closely with supervisors and other team members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Working Conditions:

This is a permanent, part-time position with 15 hours per week. Flexibility in scheduling is required, and shifts may vary according to the needs of the role.

Qualifications and Education:
  • University/College diploma in Social Services or a related field.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certificates.
Experience and Knowledge:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community-based resources and services.
Skills and Capabilities:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Competent on word processing equipment, such as Windows XP and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work with socially disadvantaged individuals and develop effective relationships.
