Key Responsibilities:- Product Offering Development: Define and manage the nuances of the Canadian product offering, ensuring it meets country-specific objectives around revenue growth, cost savings, and margin.
- Business Planning: Prepare business plans for product additions and manage the lifecycle of the product offering, including market research and analysis.
- Sourcing Strategy: Develop and implement a sourcing strategy that balances cost, delivery, and customer satisfaction, working in conjunction with key Canadian business leaders and the Product Management and Purchasing teams.
- Market Research: Conduct market research and analyze market data to identify opportunities and threats that could impact the product offering.
- Pricing and Branding: Implement pricing and branding strategies developed by upper management to optimize revenue, margin, and inventory.
- Product Promotion: Create and participate in promotional campaigns to increase product awareness and market share.
- Product Category Management: Review, maintain, and report on product categories, ensuring they meet customer needs and company goals.
- Industry Engagement: Attend and participate in industry conferences, conventions, and trade shows to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
- Vendor Management: Work to ensure a stable and quality vendor base, negotiating with suppliers to ensure optimal product quality, cost, and delivery conditions.
- Market Analysis: Analyze market data to identify opportunities and threats, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with sales personnel, customers, and other stakeholders to understand market needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Experience: 7 years of multi-functional supply chain, purchasing, and/or product management experience in a distribution or manufacturing company.
- Certifications: APICS Certified (CPIM) or equivalent required.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to utilize data to solve issues or improve processes. In-depth experience using ERP systems and the ability to synthesize large amounts of data creating management reports.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to professionally present findings and recommendations to senior executives.
- Leadership: Ability to guide and influence all levels of the organization, including internal stakeholders and management.
