Job Title: Buyer/Planner

Lawson Products is seeking a highly skilled Buyer/Planner to join our team. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for ensuring supply availability for our assigned Maintenance and Repair product lines.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and analyze demand forecasts to ensure customer order fill-rate and corporate inventory goals are met.
  • Work closely with cross-functional supply management teams and buyers on all supply-related matters.
  • Review requisitions to execute buy strategy and ensure proper timing of releases from suppliers.
  • Manage inventory levels and identify potential supply chain issues to protect the financial performance of the company.
  • Assist in driving the forecast process for multiple strategic categories and develop a rolling unit forecast at the SKU level.
  • Participate in monthly demand planning meetings and provide recommendations based on substantiated support.
  • Communicate issues to leadership as necessary and review proposed supplier product-cost changes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Logistics, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • APICS Certified (CPIM) or equivalent required.
  • Proven track record of success in similar and related Supply Chain Management roles.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to utilize data to solve issues or improve processes.
  • Experience using demand-planning and ERP systems, as well as the ability to synthesize large amounts of data creating management reports.
