Retail Store Supervisor Job Description

At Ontario Corp, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Store Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our store, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our store meets its sales and customer satisfaction targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign sales workers to duties and ensure that they are adequately trained to perform their tasks.
  • Hire and train or arrange for the training of staff, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Authorize payments by cheque and ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
  • Order merchandise and manage inventory levels to ensure that our store is always stocked with the latest products and trends.
  • Authorize the return of merchandise and resolve any issues that may arise with customers or suppliers.
  • Establish work schedules and ensure that our team is working efficiently and effectively to meet our sales and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Sell merchandise and provide exceptional customer service to our customers.
  • Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising, and personnel matters, and present them to our management team.
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints, and supply shortages.
  • Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring that our store is always well-stocked and that our customers have access to the products they need.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of our team, ensuring that they are working together effectively to achieve our sales and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to our team members, helping them to identify areas for improvement and develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Supervise office and volunteer staff, ensuring that they are adequately trained and equipped to perform their tasks.

Requirements:

  • 3-4 years of experience in a retail management role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to distinguish between colours and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
