About the Job

Fenix Construction and Labour Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Drywall Taper to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall sheets to ensure a smooth and even surface.

Responsibilities
  • Measure, cut, and install drywall sheets to ensure accurate fit and finish
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
  • Estimate costs and materials for drywall projects
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, to install drywall
  • Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms
  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications for drywall projects
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in drywall installation and finishing
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work at heights
Work Environment

This is a physically demanding role that requires working in a dusty environment. You will be required to work at heights and in various locations.
