Nova Scotia Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Site Specialty Lead for Hospitalists at St. Martha's Regional Hospital in the Eastern Zone.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure medical staff compliance with NSH bylaws and regulations
- Represent Department Medical Staff interests at the Zone Executive Director and/or Zone Department Head level
- Lead Emergency Preparedness activities as Physician Lead
- Manage site overcapacity issues from a Department perspective
- Ensure service continuity through Department scheduling practices
- Chair regular department meetings and attend other committee meetings as required
- Monitor Department standards, quality, and resource utilization
- Participate in clinical services planning for the Department
- Support respectful workplace responsibilities as needed
- Contribute to recruitment and retention activities for the Department
- Participate in new hire and onboarding processes as needed
- Develop leadership capabilities through lifelong learning and acquisition
- Lead incident review processes for the site in liaison with Quality and Patient Safety representatives
- MD licensed in Nova Scotia and privileged with Nova Scotia Health
- Evidence of past and ongoing leadership training
