About the Role

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sister/Charge Nurse to join our team on Ward 40 Day Unit. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients undergoing termination of pregnancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our Specialist Placement Nurse and Ward 40 Sisters to ensure the highest standards of care and support for staff and patients.
  • Lead a small team of HCA's, staff nurses, and student nurses, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with nurse specialists, consultants, research teams, and other departments to coordinate care for patients with fetal abnormalities and pregnancy loss.
  • Organize team off-duty and manage ward safety checks and compliances to ensure a safe and effective service.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (appropriate to branch) / Operating Department Practitioner
  • Current NMC / HCPC registration
  • Diploma in a health-related subject, prepared to take degree-level study
  • Specialist qualification if relevant to role or previous experience
