Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Correctional Health Services (CHS), a specialized program providing care for clients who are incarcerated in one of BC's 10 provincial correctional facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Establish therapeutic relationships with clients, assessing and identifying their strengths and limitations, and providing emotional support as needed.
- Contribute to the development and modification of individualized care plans, identifying client priorities and suggesting revisions as required.
- Perform various nursing procedures, such as taking blood pressures, heights and weights, and urine testing, and communicate patient information to in-charge nurses and other team members.
- Monitor client status and evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions, reporting unanticipated changes and concerns to the nurse-in-charge.
- Maintain accurate and complete computerized and paper records, tracking results and documentation in accordance with established procedures and policies.
- Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses, plus 1 year of experience working with offenders and/or in secure healthcare settings, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification (OFA Level 3 certification for positions at the Ford Mountain Correctional Centre).
