About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Utility Operator to join our team at Lafarge Construction, a leading provider of construction solutions in the buildings, infrastructure, and industrial segments. As a Utility Operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our construction equipment and sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a loader, backhoe, and skid-steer safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Perform daily maintenance and repairs as required, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition.
  • Participate in groundwork and labor tasks, including excavation, grading, and other construction activities.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of road construction best practices, grades, and overall construction awareness.
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping and ensure all work areas are clean and organized.
  • Assist with other duties as required, supporting the team to achieve project goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Willingness to learn and take direction, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers, clients, and management.
  • A valid driver's license, with a preference for those holding a Class 3 with air, or higher.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others.
  • Knowledge of City of Edmonton Specifications and the surrounding area.
