About the Role

CN is seeking a skilled Utilities Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods and people across our network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and process utility and work permit applications for Western Canada, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
  • Act as the first point of contact for third-party applicants, utility owners, contractors, and municipalities, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Protect CN's assets within our right of way, while ensuring all regulations, standards, and processes are being adhered to.
  • Coordinate internal reviews and negotiate utility agreements and work permits, ensuring costs are recovered for all third-party reviews.
  • Prepare agreements, ensure costs are received, and documentation is updated, while participating in work permit audits and safety site inspections.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of overall engineering design, construction, or related field experience, with a focus on civil engineering plans and real estate contract administration.
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED), with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology preferred.
  • Strong technical skills, including knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office, and SharePoint, with a working knowledge of utility drawings.
