About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team at Quality Machine Works Ltd. As a Machinist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and Interpret Engineering Drawings: Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to understand production requirements.
  • Machine Tool Repair and Maintenance: Repair and maintain machine tools and parts to ensure optimal performance and extend their lifespan.
  • Production Setup and Adjustment: Set up and adjust production machinery and tools to meet specific production needs.
  • Component Assembly and Inspection: Assemble and inspect components and machine parts to ensure they meet close tolerance specifications.
  • Quality Control: Verify the dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Equipment and Machinery Experience
  • Boring Machines: Operate boring machines to perform various machining tasks.
  • Drill Presses: Use drill presses to drill precise holes in machine parts.
  • Engine Lathes: Operate engine lathes to perform turning and facing operations.
  • Milling Machines: Use milling machines to perform various milling operations.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Standing for Extended Periods: Stand for extended periods while performing tasks.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in work.
Weight Handling and Personal Suitability
  • Weight Handling: Lift and move weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs) as required.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate accurate, dependable, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
