Job Summary

The Senior Practice Leader (SPL) is a key leadership position at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre, responsible for promoting excellence in nursing practice and quality of patient care. The SPL reports to the Senior Director, Clinical Operations, and functionally reports to the office of Professional Practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with internal and external stakeholders to advance knowledge creation and uptake in perinatal and women's health.
  • Develop and implement education programs to support staff in implementing evidence-based practice.
  • Pursue formal relationships with academic programs and professional associations to advance knowledge and practice in perinatal and women's health.
  • Represent the hospital on external committees and with external bodies to promote excellence in nursing practice and quality of patient care.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Nursing or a related field, with 5 years of recent experience in senior leadership positions or advanced practice roles.
  • Eligibility for registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM) and current certification in CPR.
  • Certification relevant to the program area, such as Neonatal Specialty Nursing Certificate or CNA Certification in Perinatal Nursing.
