STEM Teacher Opportunity at Bishop Strachan School

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Middle School STEM Teacher to join our team of educators at Bishop Strachan School. As a STEM Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our students by fostering creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that integrate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics concepts, preparing our students for success in the rapidly evolving fields of STEM.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of project-based STEM activities that promote inquiry-based learning and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and assessment practices with best practices in Math and Computer Science education.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and reflection to continuously improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with parents about all aspects of the program and the individual learning of each student.
Qualifications:
  • Must have an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate, with qualifications in Mathematics and/or Science.
  • Junior/Intermediate teaching qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of STEM content areas, including science, mathematics, technology, and engineering.
  • Previous experience with Robotics Design and Software Development.
  • Ability to spark interest and passion within students for STEM learning.
