Job Overview

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled Surgical Support Technician to join our team. As a key member of the surgical team, this role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Salary Information

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate ranging from $45-$55 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

This challenging role involves assisting nursing staff and physicians in providing patient care, positioning patients, cleaning operating rooms, and ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available when needed. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, applicants must possess:

  • A minimum grade 12 education required
  • Current certificate from a recognized college-level Medical Device Reprocessing Course or CSA Medical Device Reprocessing Certification required; combination of in-class and apprenticeship hours preferred
  • One year of experience in the OR, doing the OR support role required
  • Previous Central Sterilization and Reprocessing experience required
  • Excellent communication skills - both oral and written
  • Aptitude for working with delicate and heavy equipment, ability to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
