Halton Healthcare is a leading healthcare provider seeking highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialists to join its team. As a key member of our laboratory staff, you will be responsible for the receipt, handling, and processing of surgical pathology specimens.

We offer an excellent compensation package commensurate with experience, including a salary range of $38,840 to $50,240 per hour.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all duties related to the receipt, handling, and processing of surgical pathology specimens are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Collaborate effectively as a member of a high-performing team to achieve exceptional patient care outcomes.

We welcome applicants who possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in embedding specimens of all complexity, microtomy of various specimens, special stains, slide review, and quality control processes is essential.

A strong working knowledge of routine Histology procedures and equipment, immunohistochemistry, and specimen grossing is also desirable. In addition, successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to quality assurance and quality controls, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:
  • Current general registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) is mandatory.
  • Recent clinical experience of 3-5 years in Histology is required.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position is essential.
