Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Services Manager to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating policies, procedures, and practices related to physical plant, building services, and safety and security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for physical plant, building services, and safety and security
  • Administer related policies and programs, including Emergency Preparedness, WHMIS, and Asbestos Containment/Removal
  • Hire, orient, train, supervise, and evaluate maintenance staff
  • Develop and manage budgets for labor, equipment, and supplies for assigned areas
  • Act as a technical resource person on repair and maintenance issues and concerns for equipment throughout the facility
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and external agencies as required
  • Supervise and direct contractors in the performance of contract work
  • Participate in setting operational policies as part of the organization's management team
Requirements
  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a two-year diploma in physical plant maintenance and/or building trades
  • Five to seven years of related experience, including a minimum of two years direct supervisory experience
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, and general building maintenance required
  • Completion of business management coursework preferred
